I am Michelle Burrell the owner and creator of the Nineteen69. I am a qualified garment technologist whose love of colours in all aspects of my life whether it be clothing, or home interiors inspired me to create this brand. My ethos is all about using colour to enhance your mood, as it does mine which span many age demographics/ age groups.
Looking back at my journey it seems like such a long time since my light bulb moment to set up my own fashion accessories business and to truly follow my purpose in life. A purpose that has given me joy, fulfilment, and the fire in my belly to soldier on come what may. I am at the point where I am dancing to my own drum and no one else and my God it feels so good.
I don’t pretend it was easy, you must be in the right head space to prepare yourself for a lot of hard work especially when you are the producer.
Throughout my journey I was preoccupied with overthinking, self-doubt, anxiousness, what ifs, but despite this I believed in myself and my ability to create amazing items for all and I felt the fear and did it anyway.
With my hands on my heart, I feel truly blessed, content and ready for what life has in store for Nineteen69. So, for all those budding entrepreneurs out there, to coin the Nike.com phrase “Just do it,” I did with the help, support and expertise from the following people who made my journey seamless, and I will be forever grateful.
